Maredsous is a top-fermented Belgian beer made by the Moortgat brewery .

Curiously, this beer was never brewed in Maredsous Abbey in Denée ( Province of Namur ). On site, however, you can taste the beer from clay mugs. Maredsous has been brewed and marketed under license since 1963 by the Duvel Moortgat brewery in Puurs-Sint-Amands ( province of Antwerp ), which also produces Duvel .

Unlike most top-fermented Belgian beers, Maredsous beer is filtered before bottling.

Types of beer

  • Maredsous 6 blonde (light)
  • Maredsous 8 brune (dark)
  • Maredsous 10 triple (light strong beer)
