Denée is a western French municipality with 1394 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Maine-et-Loire in the region of Pays de la Loire . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Angers and the canton of Chalonnes-sur-Loire . The inhabitants are called Denéens .

geography

Denée is located about 17 kilometers southwest of Angers on the Louet , a tributary of the Loire , which borders the municipality in the north, and the Aubance , which flows into the Louet here. The area is part of the Anjou and Coteaux-de-l'Aubance wine-growing regions . Denée is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Bouchemaine in the north, Sainte-Gemmes-sur-Loire in the north and northeast, Saint-Jean-de-la-Croix in the northeast, Mozé-sur-Louet in the east and southeast, Rochefort-sur-Loire in the South and south-west and Béhuard and Savennières in the west.
