Beaulieu-sur-Layon is a French commune with 1,391 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Maine-et-Loire in the region of Pays de la Loire . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Angers and the canton of Chemillé-Melay (until 2015: canton of Thouarcé ). The inhabitants are called Belloquois .
geography
Beaulieu-sur-Layon is located about 18 kilometers south of Angers in the Anjou wine-growing region , specifically in the Coteaux-du-Layon region . In the south the Layon limits the community. Beaulieu-sur-Layon is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Rochefort-sur-Loire in the north and west, Mozé-sur-Louet in the north and north-east, Faye-d'Anjou in the east, Rablay-sur-Layon in the south and south-east, Chemillé- en-Anjou in the south and Saint-Lambert-sur-Lattay in the south and south-west.
The A87 autoroute runs through the municipality.
