Mûrs-Erigné is a French commune with 5,522 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Maine-et-Loire in the region of Pays de la Loire . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Angers and the canton of Les Ponts-de-Cé . The inhabitants are called Érimurois .
geography
The municipality is located south of the city of Angers on the left bank of the Loire , whose valley here is a UNESCO World Heritage Site . The two Loire tributaries Louet and Aubance also flow through the municipality. Mûrs-Erigné is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Sainte-Gemmes-sur-Loire in the north, Les Ponts-de-Cé in the northeast, Saint-Melaine-sur-Aubance in the east and southeast, Soulaines-sur-Aubance in the southeast, and Mozé-sur -Louet to the south and south-west and Saint-Jean-de-la-Croix to the west and north-west.
The A87 car route and the former route nationale 748 run through the municipality .
