Bouchemaine (dt .: Mainemündung ) is a western commune with 6774 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Maine-et-Loire in the region of Pays de la Loire . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Angers and is part of the canton of Angers-2 (until 2015: Angers-Ouest ). The inhabitants are called Bouchemainois or Bouchemanceaux .
geography
Bouchemaine consists of the three localities of Pruniers, Bouchemaine and La Pointe and is a banlieue in the south-west of Angers . Here the Maine flows into the Loire . Bouchemaine is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Beaucouzé in the north, Angers in the northeast, Sainte-Gemmes-sur-Loire in the east, Denée in the southeast, Savennières in the south and west and Saint-Léger-de-Linières with Saint-Jean-de-Linières in the Northwest.
Bouchemaine is located in the Chaume and Anjou wine-growing regions .
The place has a train station on the Tours – Saint-Nazaire railway line .
