Montreuil-Juigné is a municipality in France with 7517 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017). It is located in the department of Maine-et-Loire in the region of Pays de la Loire .
The community is located about ten kilometers northwest of Angers on the Mayenne . Within the municipality are the bird sanctuary "Marais" and the park named after the former French President François Mitterrand on the banks of the Mayenne.
The neighboring municipalities are Feneu , Cantenay-Épinard , Avrillé and Longuenée-en-Anjou .
The municipality of Montreuil-Juigné was created in 1973 from the union of the municipalities of Montreuil-Belfroy and Juigné-Béné. Economically, Juigné-Béné is traditionally characterized by agriculture and livestock farming , while the Montreuil-Belfroy area is mainly determined by viticulture. With the factory of the Péchiney concern , the industrial age arrived in the region, which was reflected in rapid growth in the 1950s and 1960s. The neighborhood to the big city of Angers has intensified the process of urbanization to this day.

Montreuil-Juigné is a municipality with a modern face, but with a number of historic buildings, the most notable of which is La Guyonnière Castle , which the town bought in 1982 to transform it into a leisure center.

The twin town of Montreuil-Juigné has been the German town of Kamen in North Rhine-Westphalia since 1968 .
