Tiercé is a French municipality with 4381 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Maine-et-Loire in the region of Pays de la Loire . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Angers and is the main town ( chef-lieu ) of the canton of Tiercé . The inhabitants are called Tiercéen (nes) .
geography
Tiercé is located in the Baugeois countryside on the Sarthe River, about 17 kilometers north of Angers . The municipality is bounded by the Loir River to the north-east and south . Tiercé is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Étriché in the north, Morannes sur Sarthe-Daumeray and Baracé in the northeast, Seiches-sur-le-Loir and Montreuil-sur-Loir in the east, Rives-du-Loir-en-Anjou with Soucelles in the southeast, Briollay in the south and southwest and Cheffes in the west.
