Sermaise is a French municipality with 329 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Maine-et-Loire in the region of Pays de la Loire . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Angers and the Canton of Angers-6 (until 2015: Canton Seiches-sur-le-Loir ). The inhabitants are called Sermates (also: Sarmaisiens ).

Sermaise is located about 28 kilometers east-northeast of Angers in the Baugeois landscape . Neighboring municipalities of Sermaise are Jarzé-Villages in the north, Échemiré in the northeast, Baugé-en-Anjou in the east and northeast, Saint-Georges-du-Bois in the south, Mazé-Milon in the west and southwest and Lué-en-Baugeois in the west.
