Culture and sights
The area's light limestone ( tuffeau ) is widely used as a classic building material for churches, castles and farmhouses. Significant sight is the standing in the woods towards Baugé Hinkelstein . A second, smaller copy is immediately adjacent. The Saint-Martin church dates from the 12th century. The place also houses a wash house on the edge of the field and a clay pottery in the former home of Jean Châtelain , who became known as Général Tranquille .
Leisure and Tourism
Échemiré has a relatively strong relationship with tourism. An extensive network of hiking trails has been marked, especially since a section of the French hiking movement has its headquarters there. An amusement park has been created at the Château de la Grifferaie , a little southeast of the town center. There are other hotels and private accommodations in town, as well as a leisure and recreation facility.
