history

The place was first mentioned in the 12th century.

With effect from January 1, 2016, the municipalities of Bocé , Chartrené , Cheviré-le-Rouge , Clefs-Val-d'Anjou , Cuon , Échemiré , Fougeré , Le Guédeniau and Saint-Quentin-lès-Beaurepaire became part of the existing Commune nouvelle Baugé-en-Anjou integrated. The municipality of Saint-Quentin-lès-Beaurepaire belonged to the Arrondissement of Saumur and the canton of Beaufort-en-Vallée (until 2015: canton of Baugé-en-Anjou ).
