Baugé-en-Anjou is a French municipality with 11,892 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Maine-et-Loire in the region of Pays de la Loire . Baugé-en-Anjou belongs to the Arrondissement of Saumur and the canton of Beaufort-en-Vallée (until 2015: canton of Baugé-en-Anjou ).
Historical development
Baugé-en-Anjou is a commune nouvelle that was formed on January 1, 2013 from the individual municipalities of Baugé , Montpollin , Pontigné , Saint-Martin-d'Arcé and Le Vieil-Baugé .
With effect from January 1, 2016, Baugé-en-Anjou was expanded again by integrating further municipalities as Communes délégueés in its capacity as Commune nouvelle. They were:
- Bocé
- Chartrené
- Cheviré-le-Rouge
- Clefs-Val-d'Anjou - even Commune novelle with
- Cuon
- Échemiré
- Fougeré
- Le Guédeniau
- Saint-Quentin-lès-Beaurepaire
Since then, the municipality has a total of 11,786 inhabitants (as of 2013) on an area of 268.25 km² in 15 communes délégueés.
