Allonnes is a French municipality with 3029 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Maine-et-Loire in the region of Pays de la Loire . Allonnes belongs to the Arrondissement Saumur and the canton Longué-Jumelles (until 2015: Allonnes ). The inhabitants are called Allonnais .

Allonnes is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Breille-les-Pins in the north and north-east, Brain-sur-Allonnes in the east, Varennes-sur-Loire in the south-east, Villebernier in the south and south-west, Saumur in the south-west, Vivy in the west and Neuillé in the north-west .

history

In the 10th century, the monks of the Abbey of Saint-Florent founded a priory called Aloman .

In 1842 the place Russé was incorporated.
