Turquant is a French municipality with 576 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Maine-et-Loire in the region of Pays de la Loire . Varennes-sur-Loire belongs to the Saumur arrondissement and is part of the Saumur canton (until 2015: Saumur-Sud canton ). The inhabitants are called the Turquantois .

geography

Turquant is located in the Anjou wine-growing region on the Loire . Turquant is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Varennes-sur-Loire in the north and northeast, Montsoreau in the east, Fontevraud-l'Abbaye in the south and Parnay in the west.
