geography
Vaulandry is located in the Baugeois countryside , on the border with the Sarthe department . The place itself is very small, numerous hamlets and individual farms ( Le Tertre, Les Maisons Neuves, Les Gracières, La Petite Valette, Turbilly, Les Champlonnières, La Fleurisière ) are spread over the extensive, 27.65 km² area. To the north, the district extends until shortly before La Flèche . The Ruisseau des Cartes , a tributary of the Loir accompanied by numerous fish ponds, has its source in Valaudry .
history
Vaux de Landry (Old French: Valley of the Lords Landry) is the origin of the place name. This family appeared as local rulers at the end of the 10th century. The place experienced a boom from the end of the 15th century through the activities of the Menon family, lords of Turbilly. Henri de Menon was the founder of the first agricultural society in France in the 18th century.
Since January 1, 2013, the Commune nouvelle Clefs-Val-d'Anjou was formed from the municipalities of Vaulandry and Clefs , which included the two former as Communes déléguées .
Three years later, on January 1, 2016, it was incorporated into Baugé-en-Anjou together with the other municipalities of the former canton of Baugé-en-Anjou .
