Verrières-en-Anjou is a French municipality with 7153 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Maine-et-Loire in the region of Pays de la Loire . It is part of the Arrondissement of Angers and the Canton of Angers-6 . The inhabitants are called Verrois .
Verrières-en-Anjou was created as Commune nouvelle as part of a regional reform on January 1, 2016 through the merger of two former municipalities, Pellouailles-les-Vignes and Saint-Sylvain-d'Anjou , which are now districts of Verrières-en-Anjou ( Communes déléguées ). The administrative headquarters are in the locality of Saint-Sylvain-d'Anjou .

Verrières-en-Anjou is about eight kilometers northeast of Angers . Verrières-en-Anjou is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Villevêque in the north and east, Le Plessis-Grammoire in the south-east, Saint-Barthélemy-d'Anjou in the south and Écouflant in the west and north-west.
