history

In Pellouailles, an entrepreneur collected more than 60 rare vintage cars, including a Ferrari 250 owned by Alain Delon , a Facel Vega Excellence and a Talbot-Lago Type 26 Grand Sport ; the entrepreneur went bankrupt in the 1970s and died, followed by his son. The cars were discovered in 2014, some of them in very poor condition, and are to be auctioned off by the Artcurial auction house at a Parisian classic car fair in 2015.

With effect from January 1, 2016, the communes of Pellouailles-les-Vignes and Saint-Sylvain-d'Anjou were merged to form a commune nouvelle with the name Verrières-en-Anjou. The municipality of Pellouailles-les-Vignes was part of the Arrondissement of Angers and the canton of Angers-4 (until 2015: canton of Angers-Nord-Est ).
