Marek Wojdyło

Marek Wojdyło (born 1958 in Oświęcim ) is a Polish poet.

Life

Wojdyło studied Polish Philology at the Jagiellonian University in Cracow and made his debut in 1985 under the pseudonym "Jeremiasz" in "Tygodniku Powszechnym". He lives in Oświęcim and works there as a high school teacher. Wojdyło received the Kościelski Prize in 1994.

Works

His texts were translated into German by Jakub Malukow Danecki and Karl Dedecius . Wojdyło was included in Dedecius' selection of “Poetry of the 20th Century” as one of the ten most important poets of his generation and was a participant in the German-Polish poetry festival wortlust in Leipzig in 1995 and Lublin in 1997.
