Lubliner Lift / Lubelska Winda is a bilingual poetry anthology that represents a group of German and Polish authors .

Emergence

The anthology brings together a group of German and Polish poets and is the result of the German-Polish poetry festival “wortlust” in Leipzig in 1995 and in Lublin in 1997, at which the participating authors translated each other. Inspired by Erich Loest's “Polenplan”, the festival was carried out by VS Sachsen. This was followed by further German-Polish encounters with changing organizers and sponsoring associations.

Release

The anthology was published in 1999 by Dieter Kalka with DIE SCHEUNE Dresden and Wydawnictwo TEST Lublin, foreword by Erich Loest , editors Norbert Weiß and Jakub Malukow Danecki, cover photo Edith Tar, proofreading and various translations by Agnieszka Haupe.

Pre-print and sound carrier

The translated texts by the German authors were published as a preprint in 1995 in the literary quarterly magazine "Akcent" / Lublin. In 2000, a CD of the same name with original sounds from the authors was released, recorded during the readings, compiled by Radjo Monk. The CD was financed by the Kulturstiftung Sachsen.
