Anna Janko ( pseudonym ), maiden name Aneta Jankowska (born August 27, 1957 in Rybnik ) is a Polish writer , poet and literary critic .

Family and education

Mother Teresa Ferenc (* 1934 in Ruszów near Zamość ) survived the massacre in Sochy on June 1, 1943 . As an orphaned teenager, she lived with relatives and in children's homes. After graduation, she taught as a high school teacher in Rybnik and married the poet Zbigniew Jankowski in September 1956. In 1957 the daughter Aneta and in 1960 Milena were born. The family moved to Kołobrzeg in 1965 , then to Wroclaw in 1971 and to Sopot- Brodwino in autumn 1975 .

After graduating from high school , Aneta Jankowska studied polonistics at the University of Danzig . She lived with her family in Wroclaw for around 20 years. The poet Milena Wieczorek (* 1960 in Rybnik) is her sister. Anna Janko is married to Maciej Cisło .

Writing activity

At the age of 19 Aneta Jankowska made her debut as a poet. The first volume of poetry, Letter to the Guinea Pig (List do królika doświadczalnego) was published in Gdansk in 1977 under the pseudonym Anna Janko .

In 1980 she received the Włodzimierz Pietrzak Prize, and in 1993 the prize of the ASSO writers' association in Dresden . In 2009 she received the Władysław Reymont Literature Prize. Cooperation with the Wroclaw literary magazine "Odra", Polskie Radio 2 , the magazines "Pani" and "Zwierciadło". She is a member of the PEN and the Polish Writers' Union. Anna Janko lives in Gdansk . Texts were translated into German by Bettina Eberspächer and Undine Materni on the German-Polish poet steamer and within the Orpheus group of authors .
