Central European Angelus Literature Prize

The Central European Literature Prize Angelus ( Polish Literacka Nagroda Europy Środkowej Angelus ) is a Polish literary award. It is awarded for the most important prose work by an author from Central Europe that was published the previous year in Polish or in a Polish translation. The prize is awarded in Wroclaw and is worth 150,000 zloty . Since 2010, the translator has received PLN 20,000 for translations.

The seven-member jury for 2019 consisted of Mykola Rjabtschuk (chair since 2014), Marcin Cieński , Urszula Glensk , Ryszard Krynicki (2006–2016, 2019), Anna Nasiłowska , Małgorzata Szpakowska and Piotr Śliwiński . Former members were Natalja Gorbanewskaja (Chair: 2006–2013), Stanisław Bereś (2006–2016), Ireneusz Grin (2017–2018), Piotr Kępiński (2007–2016), Krzysztof Koehler (2018), Julian Kornhauser (2006–2016), Tomasz Łubieński (2006–2016), Krzysztof Masłoń (2006–2016), Justyna Sobolewska (2008–2016), Mirosław Spychalski (2009–2016), Maciej Urbanowski (2017–2018) and Andrzej Zawada (2006–2016).

Works by living authors from the following 22 countries can be nominated for the Central European Angelus Literature Prize: Albania , Bosnia and Herzegovina , Bulgaria , Germany , Estonia , Croatia , Latvia , Lithuania , Macedonia , Republic of Moldova , Montenegro , Austria , Poland , Romania , Russia , Serbia , Slovakia , Slovenia , Czech Republic , Hungary , Ukraine and Belarus .
