Krzysztof Varga (born March 21, 1968 in Warsaw ) is a Polish prose writer , literary critic and columnist .

Life

Varga, the son of a Hungarian engineer , attended high school in Warsaw and studied Polish language and literature at the University of Warsaw from 1987 to 1992 . In 1989 he made his debut with the short story Dzień , published by Staromiejski Dom Kultury in Warsaw. From 1991 to 1994 he worked as an editor for Staromiejski Dom Kultury. In 1992 he started working as a literary critic and columnist for Gazeta Wyborcza . In 1996 he worked for the music magazine XL. In the following years he traveled to Hungary several times and made trips to the Netherlands , Scotland , Ireland , Belgium , France , Romania , Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina .

He lives in Warsaw.
