Andrij Stepanovyč Ljubka ( Ukrainian Андрій Степанович Любка ; scientific transliteration Andrij Stepanovyč Ljubka ; born December 3, 1987 in Riga ) is a Ukrainian writer, poet, essayist and translator.

biography

Andrij Ljubka was born in Riga, where his mother studied. He grew up in Vynohradiv, Carpathian Ukraine , then attended the Mukachevo military school and finished his studies in Ukrainian philology at Uzhhorod University in 2009 . His first poems and books were published during his academic years. Since then he has published in numerous Ukrainian literary magazines and his poems have been translated into a good dozen languages. After numerous scholarships and participation in poetry festivals from Moscow to Rio de Janeiro, he has now risen to the position of curator and worked in this role at the Meridian Chernivtsi and at “Kiewer Lawren”. During his student days, Ljubka was politically active like no other Ukrainian author. He supported Viktor Yushchenko during the Orange Revolution in 2004 and the candidate Aljaksandr Milinkevich during the 2006 elections in Belarus . For the latter, after 15 days in prison, he was declared persona non grata in Belarus for 10 years. 2006–2008, Ljubka headed the student parliament at Uzhhorod University, in the city where he lives.

plant

Andrij Ljubka is a very disciplined and productive poet, essayist and translator. He belongs to the young generation of Ukrainian authors who live, think and write without being influenced by the times of the Soviet Union. Provocative and youthful, he has found a large number of readers. His column articles on cultural policy appear regularly in the online magazine Zbruč , in the Kiev daily newspaper Den , in the Krakow magazine New Eastern Europe and other media. One of his topics is, in particular, the cultural character of Carpathian Ukraine . His novel Karbid , published in August 2015, describes facets of the life of a smuggler in Carpathian Ukraine . He is the translator of four volumes of poetry by the well-known Polish poet Bohdan Zadura and one volume “Aquarelle” by the author Lidia Ostałkowska. His youthful charm, which earned him the image of an "illegitimate son of Andrukhovych ", predestined Lyubka for the role of the 2013 romantic video clip of the group "Rock-H".
