Rauenbuch Castle

The castle Rauen book , even Castle Rauen book called, is a Outbound medieval moated castle on the southern edge of Rauen book (property no. 9), a modern suburb of Leutershausen in Ansbach in Bavaria .

history

In 1450 a Hans von Seckendorff is called "zu Rauenbuch" and in 1550 (1551?) There is explicit mention of a castle in Rauenbuch, when Eucarius von Zobel zu Rammersdorf was shot dead. In 1582, Endres Fuchs von Bimbach zu Möhren , governor of Neuburg an der Donau , inherited the castle. On May 29, 1594 he sold the Rauenbuch seat with his property in Leutershausen and all affiliations and subjects to the Margrave Georg Friedrich . Towards the end of the Thirty Years' War , the Swedes burned the castle and the place. In 1647 the castle was demolished and the farm continued to operate until 1732.

Remnants of the wall and the deepening of the former moat are evidence of the palace complex .
