The Burgstall Markttriebendorf is an abandoned medieval hilltop castle in the "Burgstall" corridor to the south-east of Markttriebendorf , a current district of Heilsbronn in the Ansbach district in Bavaria .
history
The castle probably belonged to a chain of castles of the Staufer , who ruled the Holy Roman Empire of the German nation from 1138 to 1254 . According to a legend , the castle was connected to the Cadolzburg by an underground passage . In fact, there is a line of sight between the Burgstall , which could also have been a tower hill castle (moth), and the Cadolzburg, which enabled signals as smoke or fire signals.
Only small remains of the wall are evidence of the former castle complex, to which the field name "Burgstall" refers.
