In Leutershausen, the average annual rainfall is 685 mm.

history

Leutershausen was probably founded around 800 by Franconian settlers. The place is first documented for the year 1000 as "Liuthereshusun" in the deed of wilderness of Emperor Otto III. The basic word is ahd. "Hûs" (= house, solid building) in the plural, the defining word is the personal name "Liuthere, Liuther", so that the place name meaning to the houses of Liuther results.

After the Thirty Years War , numerous exiles who had been expelled from Austria as Protestants found a new home here and in the surrounding area.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 172 properties in Leutershausen, 79 within the city walls and 93 in the suburbs. The high court and the village and community rulership exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach city bailiwick office of Leutershausen . The principality of Ansbach was the landlord (Stadtvogteiamt Leutershausen: 159, caste office Colmberg : seven, cloister administrator office Sulz : three, parish priests: three). In addition to the property, there were also communal, ecclesiastical and manorial buildings. From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice Office Leutershausen and Chamber Office Colmberg .

In the geographical statistical-topographical lexicon of Franconia (1801) the place is described as follows:

Leutershausen Ansbach town on the Altmühl, 4 hours from Ansbach from 148 subjects and 150 houses. The city holds seven annual markets. The town's food is declining partly because of the proximity of Ansbach, partly because the roads from Ansbach via Aurach to Feuchtwang and via Lehrberg to Uffenheim are chaussed, thus excluding it from all traffic with travelers. [Sp. 341] The folly of hanging the wreaths of deceased children and unmarried people in the funeral chapel, which was only built in 1722, will hopefully come to an end by the end of this century. In 1318 it was bought by Count Truhendingen. According to Gädike's Fabriken- und Manufakturenlexikon 2nd Thl, p. 288, this is a harass yarn manufacture. "

In 1806 Leutershausen came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict , the tax district Leutershausen was formed in 1808 , to which Froschmühle , Leutershausen, Mittelramstadt , Rammersdorf and Winden belonged. In 1810 the

The rural community Leutershausen was subordinate in administration and jurisdiction to the district court Leutershausen and in the financial administration to the Rentamt Colmberg . From 1862 on, Leutershausen was administered by the Ansbach district office (renamed the Ansbach district in 1938 ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court Leutershausen until 1879, since 1880 district court Ansbach . In 1880, the financial management was transferred to the Ansbach Rent Office ( renamed the Ansbach Tax Office in 1920 ). The community originally had an area of 6,550 km².

On July 10, 2015, the Leutershausen rampage took place , in which two people were killed in the districts of Rammersdorf and Tiefenthal .

The house on the market (formerly also synagogue) was sold to a soap maker and grocer for 2730 thalers in 1866. Business flourished, especially due to the nearby railway construction. Later it developed into a popular EDEKA store and, compared to the new supermarkets, slowly became a "mom and pop store" until it finally disappeared from the cityscape. Today it is a pizzeria.

Coat of arms of Leutershausen
Blazon : “In red a silver gatehouse with a closed red gate and a pointed roof turret; a black and silver flag on both sides of the roof. "
Foundation of the coat of arms: The oldest seal dates from the middle of the 14th century and shows a palace-like building with arched windows, which stands for the place name component "-hausen". The shape of the building changed several times, varying from a simple house to a castle on a mountain. The colors have been known since the beginning of the 18th century.
