history
Until the church is planted
Around 770 a wooden fortification was built on the " Kolbenberg ". The fortification was made in 939 with the Duchy of Franconia imperial fief . Emperor Otto III. 1000 gave the Wildbann around Colmberg to the diocese of Würzburg . In 1128 Colmberg became a fiefdom of the Counts of Hohenlohe . In the period from 1150 to 1240, the old fortifications were expanded to form the Reichsburg Colmberg under the German emperors and their bailiffs. In 1254, Count Friedrich von Truhendingen seized the Colmberg feud after the Staufenkaiser died out. The Counts Friedrich VIII. And Konrad von Truhendingen sold Colmberg for 6200 pounds Haller pfennigs to Burgrave Friedrich IV. Of Nuremberg. Around 1320 Colmberg was the seat of a burggrave (later margrave) upper office with Vogt and Kastner. In 1361 the settlement "Altenstatt" near Colmberg was mentioned for the first time. The parish church of St. Ursula was first mentioned in 1375. Next to the parish church there was the chapel of Colmberg Castle , as evidenced by a font from the late 13th century; In 1451 Margrave Albrecht Achilles had the castle chapel rebuilt on the first floor of the bower building and appointed a chaplain to whom two thirds of the Colmberg tithing were due.
Burgrave Friedrich VI. lived at Colmberg Castle in 1408 to save money and became Margrave of Brandenburg in 1415 . Around 1500 Colmberg became the seat of a margravial gamekeeper . During this time, the place fell victim to arson: in 1449 this was done by the Rothenburgers , and in 1525 by the “Red Konrad” peasantry.
With the introduction of the Reformation in the Principality of Ansbach in 1528, Colmberg also became Protestant.
In the 16-point report of the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Colmberg from 1608, 51 teams are listed for Colmberg. The Kastenamt Colmberg had 50 properties and 1 property was owned by the manor Rammersdorf of the Lords of Eyb as landlords . The High Court exercised the Vogtamt Colmberg .
During the Thirty Years' War in 1631, imperial troops under the general Tilly pillaged the place. After the war, around 100 immigrants from Upper and Lower Austria contributed to the renewed rise of the place after they had to leave their homeland as religious refugees.
In the 16-point report of the Colmberg Oberamt from 1681, 56 teams are listed for Colmberg. 55 properties were subordinate to the Colmberg box office and 1 property to the Eyb'schen Rittergut Wiedersbach . There was also a rectory, a schoolhouse and two shepherds' houses.
Towards the end of the 18th century, the number of properties rose to 70, with the newly created properties all being Columbian. 46 Söldengütlein , 1 Söldengut with Badstube, 4 Söldengütlein with baking rights, 1 Söldengut with inn , 1 mill with Söldengut, 3 taverns, 1 tavern of the Kastenamt Colmberg, 1 forge-Söldengütlein, 4 empty houses were directly subordinate to the Kastenamt Colmberg . In addition, this administered the taxes of the parish of Colmberg (1 Köblergut, 1 Söldengütlein) and the municipality of Colmberg (4 empty houses). 1 Söldengütlein was still under the Wiedersbach manor. In addition to these properties, there were stately (castle, district forester's house), ecclesiastical (rectory, parish church) and communal buildings (schoolhouse, shepherd's house, crushing house , fire fighting house, sheep barn).
The Colmberg market as part of the principality of Ansbach was under Prussian administration from 1791 and was the seat of a chamber office of the Ansbach district from 1797 to 1808 .
19th and 20th centuries
With the Rhine Confederation Act 1806, the place came to the Kingdom of Bavaria .
As part of the municipal edict , the Colmberg tax district was formed in 1808 , to which Colmberg, Häslabronn , Kurzendorf , Oberfelden and Unterfelden belonged. The rural community Colmberg was founded in 1810 and was congruent with the tax district. It was subject to the Leutershausen Regional Court in administration and jurisdiction and to the Colmberg Rent Office for financial administration . With the second community edict (1818) the rural community was split into:
- Rural community Colmberg with Häslabronn and Kurzendorf and
- Rural community Oberfelden with Unterfelden.
In voluntary jurisdiction, a property in Colmberg was under the patrimonial court of Wiedersbach - Rammersdorf from 1820 to 1842 . From 1862 on, Colmberg was administered by the Ansbach District Office (renamed the Ansbach District in 1938 ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court Leutershausen until 1879, since 1880 district court Ansbach . In 1880, the financial management was transferred to the Ansbach Rent Office ( renamed the Ansbach Tax Office in 1920 ).
The castle became private property in 1880 after the rent office was closed.
In 1972 the municipalities of Auerbach and Bieg partially and the municipality of Oberfelden joined the market municipality of Colmberg. The communities of Binzwangen and Poppenbach followed on May 1, 1978.
The Häslabronn part of the Colmberg municipality was awarded the Europa-Nostra-Medal in 1992 .

badges and flags
Colmberg has had its own coat of arms since 1965.
Blazon : "In gold threebrown cattails growingfrom the middle of a green mountain of three with leafy green stems, the sides of which are inclined outwards."
Black-yellow-green municipal flag |
|
Justification for the coat of arms: The Colmberg court had a seal as early as the 17th century. The market town has adopted the seal image for its coat of arms. The cattails on the Dreiberg stand for the place name. The colors have been handed down since 1718. |
