Auerbach (colloquially: Aur ə ba ) is a district of the Colmberg market in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia .

geography

The Spielberg ( 488  m above sea level ) rises southwest of the parish village and the Bromberg rises 0.7 km northwest . 0.8 km to the west is the Lohholz , 0.7 km to the southwest is the Löhle and Hirschholz . At Spielberg there is a former marl quarry , which is designated as a geotope and protected as a natural monument.

The district road AN 20 leads to State Road 2245 near Bauzenweiler (1.1 km southwest) or State Road 2250 (2.2 km northeast). Municipal roads lead to Mittelramstadt (1.6 km southeast) and Oberramstadt (1.4 km east) to AN 23 .

history

The place was first mentioned in a deed of wild animals by Emperor Otto III. for Bishop Heinrich von Würzburg , issued on May 1, 1000, named as "Urbruch" and named as the seventeenth border point. From the place name it can be concluded that at that time there was a swampy area in which aurochs were staying.

In 1291 Berthold von Vendebach bequeathed his goods to the Heilsbronn Monastery in a will, which subsequently acquired two more properties. The place was subordinate to the Lords of Esel, who also owned Auerbach Castle , which has since fallen into disrepair except for the remains of the castle stables. At later times, the lords of Haldermannstetten in Auerbach were wealthy and were subordinate to the margravial fiefdom.

In the 16-point report of the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Colmberg from 1608, 14 teams were recorded for Auerbach. 3 properties were subordinate to the Colmberg caste office , 2 properties to the Heilsbronn monastery administration office and 9 properties to Christoph Sebastian von Jaxtheim. The High Court exercised the Vogtamt Colmberg . In 1610 the Jaxtheim ownership passed to the Barons von Eyb , as can be seen in the 16-point report of the Colmberg Oberamt from 1681.

At the end of the 18th century there were 16 properties in Auerbach. The High Court and the village and community rule exercised the Vogtamt Colmberg. The landlords were the Kastenamt Colmberg (2 Köblergüter, 1 Tafernwirtschaft , 1 Leerhaus ), the Brandenburg-Bayreuthian Kastenamt Neuhof (1 Halbhof, 1 Köblergut ) and the manor Eyerlohe of the Lords of Eyb (1 courtyard, 9 Köblergüter). In addition to the property, there were also church buildings (parish widdum, parish church) and communal buildings (school house, shepherd's house). From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice Office Leutershausen and Chamber Office Colmberg .

In 1806 Auerbach came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict , the Auerbach tax district was formed in 1808 , to which Auerbach, Bauzenweiler , Kressenhof , Meuchlein and Oberramstadt belonged. The rural community of Auerbach was founded in 1810 and was congruent with the tax district. The municipality was under the administration and jurisdiction of the district court Leutershausen and the financial administration of the Colmberg Rent Office . In voluntary jurisdiction, eleven properties were subordinate to the Patrimonial Court of Eyerlohe - Frohnhof from 1822 to 1836 . From 1862 on, Auerbach was administered by the Ansbach District Office (renamed the Ansbach District in 1938 ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court Leutershausen until 1879, since 1880 district court Ansbach . In 1880, the financial management was transferred to the Ansbach Rent Office ( renamed the Ansbach Tax Office in 1920 ). Auerbach had an area of 11.057 km².

On January 1, 1972, the municipality of Auerbach was dissolved in the course of the regional reform in Bavaria : Auerbach and Meuchlein were incorporated into Colmberg, Bauzenweiler, Kressenhof and Oberramstadt after Leutershausen .

Architectural monuments

  • Evangelical Lutheran Parish Church of St. Maria : Choir tower from the 15th century. In 1719 St. Maria was redesigned as a hall church. The former choir with a pointed arch barrel was separated from the hall by the organ gallery. The tower top with a pyramid roof is baroque. From the interior, the crucifixion group from 1719 is particularly worth seeing.
  • Castle stable of Auerbach Castle , homestead no. 14: A former courtyard building (tithe barn), built in 1583 (inscription stone, now in the courtyard wall) by David von Jaxtheim , has been preserved ; 1610–1734 owned by the barons of Eyb. The single-storey house with a two-storey half-timbered gable with a crooked hip was probably only given its current shape in the 17th century.
  • Rectory from 1758: using the ground floor walls of the house from 1577, two-storey with a hipped roof. Parish barn at the same time, one-storey with a crooked hip, renovated with the rectory wall in 1887.
  • Teacher's and sacristan's house from 1726, single storey, partly half-timbered, with a crooked hip
  • Stone cross, medieval, sandstone, walled in next to the cemetery portal
  • wooden well with a tiled gable roof and wooden gears, probably baroque, in the center of the village

coat of arms

From 1952 until the dissolution, the municipality of Auerbach had its own coat of arms. The description of the coat of arms reads: In silver over three vertical blue diamonds, a red-lined margrave hat set with hermelin .

For historical and heraldic reasons, the margrave's hat is shown in the older form, which can be traced back to 1712, with the crowning ermine tail. The three diamonds show that Auerbach has belonged to Bavaria since 1806.

religion

The place has been Protestant since the Reformation. The residents of the Evangelical Lutheran denomination are parish to St. Maria (Auerbach) , the residents of the Roman Catholic denomination to St. Ludwig (Ansbach) .
