The village is on the Bächwiesengraben, which is a left tributary of the Altmühl . In the south lies the Au , approx. 0.5 km north of the Mühlfeld and Kreuzfeld , approx. 0.5 km east of the Dürnetsbuck , the Schlagfeld and the Bromberg . A communal road leads to Frommetsfelden (1.8 km west) or state road 2245 (0.6 km east), which runs to Colmberg (1.3 km north) and past Bauzenweiler to Leutershausen (4.5 km south) .
history
The place was first mentioned by name in 1276 as "Altenmuchlowe" meaning to the hidden floodplain . In the meantime, the place is no longer hidden, but free and open, but from older hallway names such as the "Meuchleiner Löhlein" it can be concluded that this was originally the case.
In the 16-point report of the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Colmberg from 1608, 14 teams were recorded for Meuchlein. 6 properties were subordinate to the Colmberg caste office , 3 properties to the rich alms of the imperial city of Nuremberg , 1 property to a Hans Wilhelm Schenk and 1 property to the Ansbach citizen Christoph Weber. The High Court exercised the Vogtamt Colmberg . In the 16-point report of the Colmberg Oberamt from 1681, 14 teams are still listed for Meuchlein, with the Schenkische property now under the Colmberg caste office.
Towards the end of the 18th century there were 14 properties and a community pastor's house in Meuchlein. The High Court and the village and community rule exercised the Vogtamt Colmberg. The landlords were the principality of Ansbach (box office Colmberg: 1 estate, 8 Köblergüter ; parish of Colmberg : 2 Köblergüter) and the state alms office of the imperial city of Nuremberg (3 Köblergüter).
From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice Office Leutershausen and Chamber Office Colmberg .
As part of the community edict, Meuchlein was assigned to the Auerbach tax district, formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Auerbach, founded in 1810 . On January 1, 1972, Meuchlein was incorporated into Colmberg as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
