Unterhegenau is a district of the Colmberg market in the Ansbach district in Middle Franconia .

geography

The hamlet is located on the Furtgraben, a left tributary of the Altmühl . Approx. The Lange Strichfeld is 0.5 km to the northwest , about 1.25 km to the northwest of the Sauberg ( 484  m above sea level ), about 0.5 km to the southwest of the Rehbühl ( 452  m above sea level ), about 0.75 km south in Heiligenholz the Eichelberg .

The district road AN 2 leads to Obersulzbach (1.5 km east) or to Oberhegenau to state road 2245 (1.5 km west). A community road leads to Unterfelden (2.3 km southwest).

In the 16-point report of the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Colmberg from 1608, five teams were listed for Unterhegenau, all of which had the caste office Colmberg as landlord . The High Court exercised the Vogtamt Colmberg . In the 16-point report of the Oberamt Colmberg from 1681, the manorial conditions for Unterhegenau are unchanged. However, the Brandenburg-Bayreuth mayor's office in Markt Bergel exercised the high court over a courtyard.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were six properties in Unterhegnau (3 courtyards, 2 half-courtyards, 1 estate). The high court now exercised the mayor's office in Markt Bergel over the whole place. The village and community rulership was held by the Vogtamt Colmberg. All properties had the Colmberg caste office as landlord. In addition to the property, there were also communal buildings (shepherd's house, breaker's house ).

From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice Office Leutershausen and Chamber Office Colmberg .

As part of the municipal edict, Unterhegenau was assigned to the Binzwangen tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Binzwangen, founded in 1810 . In 1836, the residents of Unterhegenau applied to be reunited with Obersulzbach . This was approved on the condition that the resulting costs of 250 florins were borne. The application was then withdrawn. On May 1, 1978 Unterhegenau was incorporated into Colmberg as part of the regional reform .

The place has been Protestant since the Reformation. The residents of the Evangelical Lutheran denomination are parish to St. Maria (Obersulzbach) , the residents of the Roman Catholic denomination to St. Johannis (Rothenburg ob der Tauber) .
