Ansbach district
The Ansbacher Kreis was one of six districts in the Principality of Ansbach under Prussian administration with its seat in Ansbach .
history
The Ansbach district existed from 1797 to 1806. The district authority was called the district directorate. It was formed from the upper offices of Ansbach , Colmberg and Windsbach . The subjects of the Hochstift Eichstätt , the Teutonic Order (with the exception of Virnsberg ), the Imperial City of Nuremberg , the Nuremberg owners, various foundations and manors were added; some of them had special rights. At the same time, the Ansbach subjects were ceded to the respective rulers outside of the former upper offices. In 1803 the offices of Eichstätt were finally Abenberg ,Arberg-Ornbau , Wahrberg-Herrieden , Wernfels-Spalt incorporated into the Ansbach district.
Justice and administration were separated. The sub-authorities included the judicial offices of Ansbach, Leutershausen, Windsbach, the chamber offices of Ansbach, Colmberg, Windsbach, the magistrates of Ansbach, Leutershausen, Merkendorf, Windsbach and the patrimonial courts of Eschenbach, Eyerlohe, Frohnhof, Neuendettelsau, Obernzenn, Sommersandzenn, Rüglersandzenn. The authorities were initially taken over by the new Kingdom of Bavaria , but on October 1, 1808, they were repealed. In their place the district courts of Ansbach , Heilsbronn and Leutershausen were created, which were responsible for both administration and justice.
