Thierbach (colloquially: Dirba ) is a district of the municipality Weihenzell in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia .

geography

The hamlet is located on the Thierbach, a right tributary of the Mettlachbach, which in turn is a right tributary of the Haselbach , and on an unnamed stream, which flows into the Thierbach as a right tributary. In the northwest is the Adelmannsdorfer Schlag forest area . A community road leads to Beutellohe (0.4 km southeast).

history

The place was first mentioned by name in 1255 as "Tirbah". The place name is derived from the stream, which probably served as a drinking place for the game. Since the designation “Thier” for game has become obsolete, the name has been popularly reinterpreted as “Dürrbach” (read for example in the first recording from 1826). Thierbach is probably a clearing settlement from the high or late Middle Ages.

In the 16-point report of the Oberamt Ansbach from 1684 two teams were listed for Thierbach: the two half-yards had the Hofkastenamt Ansbach as landlord . The high court and the village and community authority exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbachische Hofkastenamt Ansbach.

Towards the end of the 18th century, Thierbach formed a community with Beutellohe . There were two properties in Thierbach. The court box office in Ansbach continued to exercise the high court, the village and community rulership and manorial rule. From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach .

As part of the community edict, Thierbach was assigned to the Weihenzell tax district, which was formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community Weihenzell, founded in 1811 .

The place has been Protestant since the Reformation. The inhabitants of the Evangelical Lutheran denomination are parish to St. Jakob (Weihenzell) , the inhabitants of the Roman Catholic denomination to Christ König (Ansbach) .
