Neumühle (colloquially: Naimíl ) is a district of the municipality Weihenzell in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia .

geography

The settlement is located on the Wernsbach, which flows together with the Zellbach (left) to the Rippach, which is a left tributary of the Haselbach , which in turn is a right tributary of the Bibert . The district road AN 10 leads to Weihenzell (0.6 km east) or to Wernsbach (1.8 km west). The district road AN 9 leads to Zellrüglingen (0.8 km north) or past the Schmalnbachshof to Grüb (2.5 km south).

history

Neumühle was first mentioned in a document in 1410 as "de molendino Schonranfft prope Weihenzell". The name is derived from the owner Hans Schönranft, who is also explicitly mentioned in 1420. In the years 1732, 1739 and 1751 the wasteland "Knoblauchsmühl" was alternatively called "Neumühl", from 1809 officially only "Neumühl". The name Knoblauchsmühl is likely to be derived from the cultivation of garlic, which was rather rare in this area.

Towards the end of the 18th century, the Neumühle belonged to Weihenzell. She had the Brandenburg-Ansbach Hofkastenamt Ansbach as landlord . Under the Prussian administration (1792–1806) of the Principality of Ansbach, Neumühle was given the numbers 35 and 36 of Weihenzell when the house numbers were assigned. From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach .

As part of the community edict, Neumühle was assigned to the Weihenzell tax district, which was formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community Weihenzell, founded in 1811 . From the second half of the 20th century, the Neumühle was expanded into a settlement that now forms a closed settlement with Weihenzell.
