history

Due to the location, the block-like historical land division and the determination of Gebersdorf as a farming village, a high medieval town was founded in the 11th / 12th. Century. The hamlet was first mentioned in a document in 1275 as "Gerwigesdorf". The place name is derived from the personal name Gerwig and probably indicates a Franconian tribal prince with this name as the founder.

In the 16-point report of the Oberamt Ansbach from 1684 6 teams were recorded for Gebersdorf: 5 properties (2 courtyards, 2 estates, 1 Gütlein) were subordinate to the Hofkastenamt Ansbach and 1 property to the Stiftsamt Ansbach . There was also a communal shepherd's house. The high court and the village and community authority exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbachische Hofkastenamt Ansbach.

There were also six properties in Gebersdorf towards the end of the 18th century. The court box office in Ansbach continued to exercise the high court and the village and community rule. The landlords were the Hofkastenamt Ansbach (2 courtyards, 2 estates, 1 smithy) and the Stiftsamt Ansbach (1 half courtyard). In addition to the property, there was the shepherd's house and the crushing house as communal buildings . From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach .

As part of the municipal edict, Gebersdorf was assigned to the Katterbach tax district, which was formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Katterbach, founded in 1811 . With the second community edict of 1818, Gebersdorf was re-pared to Weihenzell . On April 8, 1830 Gebersdorf was umgemeindet in the newly formed community Grüb . On January 1, 1974, this was incorporated into Weihenzell as part of the regional reform .
