Wernsbach bei Ansbach (officially: Wernsbach b.Ansbach ; colloquial: "Wernschba") is a district of the municipality Weihenzell in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia .

geography

The Wernsbach, which merges with the Zellbach (left) to the Rippach, a left tributary of the Haselbach, flows through the parish village . The Rattenbach flows northwest of the village, and the Hirtenbach flows southeast of the village as a right tributary into the Wernsbach. In the north is the Berlach forest, and in the northeast is the Schelm forest.

The district road AN 10 leads to Weihenzell (2 km east) or to Schönbronn (1.5 km south-west). Municipal roads lead to Wüstendorf (1.8 km northwest) and the district road AN 9 crosses to Grüb (2 km south). The Franconian Marienweg runs through the village .

history

Due to its rather unfavorable location and soil conditions, Wernsbach is probably one of the villages in the first stage of development after the Franconian conquest (11th / 12th centuries). The place was first mentioned in 1168. At that time there was already a Lady Chapel there. The place belonged to the possessions of the Lords of Dornberg , which they sold in 1331 to Friedrich IV. , The Burgrave of Nuremberg .

In 1503 the parish of St. Jakob (Weihenzell) broke up and was raised to a parish. In 1716/17 the new construction and reconstruction of today's Evangelical Lutheran parish church of St. Johannes took place.

Wernsbach had its own school as early as 1613. In the Thirty Years War the place was badly devastated, in 1638 only two families lived there.

In the 16-point report of the Oberamt Ansbach from 1684, 22 teams were recorded for Wernsbach: All properties had the Hofkastenamt Ansbach as landlord . There was also the bath, shepherd's and school house as communal buildings and the parish church and rectory as church buildings. The high court and the village and community authority exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbachische Hofkastenamt Ansbach.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 24 properties in Wernsbach, including the Alexandermühle. The court box office in Ansbach continued to exercise the high court and the village and community rule. The principal of all properties was the Principality of Ansbach (Hofkastenamt Ansbach: 6 courtyards, 1 courtyard with tavern , 2 half- courtyards, 3 estates, 1 estate with baking rights, 3 estates, 1 Köblergut , 2 mills, 1 smithy, 3 empty houses ; Wernsbach parish : 1 Köblergut). In addition to the households, there were also church buildings (church, rectory) and communal buildings (schoolhouse, shepherd's house, crushing house ). At that time there were 25 subject families. From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach .

In 1806 Wernsbach came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict , the tax district Wernsbach was formed in 1808 , to which Alexandermühle , Haasgang , Moratneustetten , Neubronn , Schmalnbachshof and Schönbronn belonged. The rural community of Wernsbach was founded in 1811 and was congruent with the tax district. It was subordinate to the Ansbach Regional Court in administration and jurisdiction and to the Ansbach Rent Office ( renamed Ansbach Tax Office in 1920 ).

On July 27, 1830 the community Haasgang was formed: Haasgang, Moratneustetten and Neubronn were umgemeindet von Wernsbach, Adelmannsdorf and Höfen von Weihenzell. From 1862 on, Wernsbach was administered by the Ansbach district office (renamed the Ansbach district in 1938 ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court of Ansbach until 1870, 1870-1879 city and district court Ansbach , since 1880 district court Ansbach . The municipality had an area of 6.236 km². In the course of the regional reform , Wernsbach was incorporated into Weihenzell on January 1, 1974.
