history

For the first time the place was in 1150 under the name "Grube", d. H. Settlement in the pit, mentioned. The place is said to have been the seat of a noble family of the same name; it later passed to the Lords of Dornberg .

In 1460, Duke Louis IX attacked. of Bavaria and its allies the Ansbach Margrave Albrecht Achilles . They looted and destroyed Eyb and the neighboring villages of Alberndorf , Grüb, Hirschbronn , Katterbach , Obereichenbach , Pfaffengreuth and Untereichenbach by fire .

In the 16-point report of the Oberamt Ansbach from 1684 eleven teams were recorded for Grüb: eight properties (two courtyards, six Köblersgüter ) were subordinate to the Hofkastenamt Ansbach , one property to the Ansbach Abbey , one property to the mayor and council of Ansbach and one property of the Coming from Virnsberg . There was also a communal shepherd's house. The high court and the village and community authority exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbachische Hofkastenamt Ansbach.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were eleven properties and a communal shepherd's house in Grüb. The court box office in Ansbach continued to exercise the high court and the village and community rule. The Principality of Ansbach was the sole landlord of all properties (Hofkastenamt Ansbach: 1 courtyard, 2 half-courtyards, 1 estate, 1 Köblergut , 3 Gütlein, 1 Schmiedgut; Stiftsamt Ansbach: 1 estate; Ansbach Council: 1 half-yard). From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach .

In 1806 Grüb came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the community edict, Grüb was assigned to the Hennenbach tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Hennenbach , which was founded in 1811 . With the second community edict (1818) Grüb was re-ceded to Weihenzell . On March 18, 1830, Gebersdorf , Grüb and Wippendorf made an application to form a rural community, which was approved on April 8 of the same year. The community was initially called Gebersdorf, not until the 1840s was Grüb. The municipality was under the administration and jurisdiction of the district court of Ansbach and the financial administration of the Ansbach Rent Office ( renamed the Ansbach Tax Office in 1920 ). From 1862 onwards, it was administered by the Ansbach district office (renamed the Ansbach district in 1938 ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court of Ansbach until 1870, 1870-1879 city and district court Ansbach , since 1880 district court Ansbach . The municipality had an area of 6,853 km². On January 1, 1974, it was incorporated back into Weihenzell as part of the regional reform .
