Paper mill (colloquially: Babī ə ʴmil ), also called Stiftsmühle (since it was under the Ansbach Abbey Office), is a district of the Weihenzell community in the Ansbach district in Middle Franconia .

geography

The wasteland lies on the Rippach, which is a left tributary of the Haselbach , which in turn is a right tributary of the Bibert . The Eckertsleiten corridor is located in the southeast . The paper mill forms a closed settlement with Weihenzell. A residential path leads to the district road AN 10 (0.1 km south-west), which runs to the center of Weihenzell (0.6 km north-west) or past the Steinmühle and Fessenmühle to Frankendorf (2.5 km east).

history

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1587 as "small mill", the place name indicating a property of the mill by means of which it can be distinguished from other mills existing in this area. In 1705 it came into the possession of the Margraviate of Ansbach and was used to manufacture paper. It is later sold to the court rope maker Justus Pflaum.

Towards the end of the 18th century the paper mill belonged to Weihenzell. She had the Brandenburg-Ansbach Abbey Office in Ansbach as landlord . Under the Prussian administration (1792–1806) of the Principality of Ansbach, the paper mill was given numbers 33 and 34 of Weihenzell when the house numbers were assigned. From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach .

As part of the community edict, paper mill was assigned to the Weihenzell tax district, which was formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community Weihenzell, founded in 1811 .
