Zellrüglingen (colloquially: "Tselrīgla") is a district of the municipality Weihenzell in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia .

geography

The village is located on the Zellbach, which merges with the Wernsbach (right) to the Rippach, a left tributary of the Haselbach . This flows right into the Bibert . In the west is the Berlach forest area, in the south-west lies the Kreutranken, behind it the Schelm forest area.

The district road AN 9 leads to Weihenzell (0.8 km south) or to Neubronn (2.5 km north). A community connecting road also leads to Weihenzell to AN 10 (1.1 km southeast), another community connecting road leads to Moratneustetten (2 km northwest).

history

The place was first mentioned by name in 1439 as “Ruglande bey Weihentzelle”, and in 1467 as “Zellrüglang”. Similar to Rügland , the place name indicates that the place was founded on a land whose ownership structure was unclear and could only be clarified through a lawsuit (= Ruge). The place name component of Zell suggests that it was a monastery foundation, whereby only the Benedictine monastery of St. Gumbertus in Ansbach comes into question. Due to the greater distance to the monastery, it cannot be assumed that it was founded in the early days (8th century), but it must have taken place in the 11th century at the latest, as the monastery was dissolved at that time.

According to the 16-point report of the Oberamt Ansbach from 1684, Weihenzell formed a community with Zellrüglingen. Twelve teams were recorded for Zellrüglingen: eleven properties (four courtyards, five estates, two estates) were subordinate to the Ansbach court box office and one property to the Ansbach monastery . There was also a communal shepherd's house. The high court and the village and community authority exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbachische Hofkastenamt Ansbach.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 13 properties in Zellrüglingen and the sheep, shepherd and breaker house as communal buildings. The court box office in Ansbach continued to exercise the high court and the village and community rule. The principal of all properties was the Principality of Ansbach (Hofkastenamt Ansbach: 4 courtyards, 2 half-courtyards, 3 estates, 3 estates; Ansbach Abbey: 1 courtyard). At that time there were 14 subject families. From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach .

As part of the community edict, Zellrüglingen was assigned to the Weihenzell tax district, which was formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community Weihenzell, founded in 1811 . An application for the formation of a separate community together with Beutellohe was rejected on August 27, 1833.
