history

In the Middle Ages, Ismannsdorf was conveniently located on the military and trade route that led from Nuremberg via Windsbach and Dinkelsbühl to Strasbourg. The place was first mentioned in a document in 1154/57 when goods were sold to the Heilsbronn monastery . In 1157/61 the place is mentioned as "Isiboldesdorf" in further sales. The defining word of the place name is the Germanic personal name Isibold, which can be seen as the founder of the settlement. According to the place name, Ismannsdorf is said to be one of the oldest settlements in this area. From 1338 to 1396 the monastery acquired four farms. A total of five properties became Heilsbronnisch. In the document of 1338, the place is first mentioned by blurring the middle syllable "Ismanstorf".

The main team Hergersbach of the imperial city of Nuremberg had 1 subject family in the village in 1529.

In the 16-point report of the Windsbach Regional Office from 1608, five teams are listed for "Ißmannsdorff" who lived in 4 farms and 1 mill. The administration office Merkendorf exercised the basic rule over all properties , the high court held the Brandenburg-Ansbach caste and city bailiff's office in Windsbach . The Merkendorf administrator's office exercised community law and the shepherd's crook.

According to the Vetter'schen Oberamtsbeschreibung from the year 1732, there were 9 subject families in "Ißmannsdorff": the beer tap was subordinate to the Windsbach box office , 7 half- yards (including the forge and mill) to the Merkendorf administrator's office and 1 half-yard to the Nuremberg owner von Orte . In the official description of the Lichtenau nursing office from 1748, 7 subject families are specified for the place, one of which was subordinate to the nursing office and six to the Merkendorf administration office.

In 1764 a school was established in Ismannsdorf, which pupils from Sauernheim and Speckheim also attended. In 1964 it was closed and the students were integrated into the Windsbach school association.

At the end of the 18th century there were 13 properties in Ismannsdorf. The high court exercised the caste and city bailiff's office Windsbach, the village and community rule was held by the Merkendorf administrator. The landlords were the principality of Ansbach (Merkendorf administration office: 2 courtyards, 4 half-yards, 2 quarter yards, 1 Mühlgut, 1 forge, 1 little house; Kastenamt Windsbach : 1 tavern) and the Nuremberg owner von Holzschuher (1 half-yard). In addition to the property, there were also communal buildings (shepherd's house, schoolhouse). At that time there were 11 subject families, 10 of which were Ansbachian. From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the Justice and Chamber Office Windsbach .

In 1806 Ismannsdorf came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the community edict, Ismannsdorf was assigned to the Sauernheim tax district, formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Sauernheim, founded in 1810 . With the second community edict (1818) Ismannsdorf broke up with Speckheim von Sauernheim and formed a rural community. It was subject to the Heilsbronn Regional Court in administration and jurisdiction and the Windsbach Rent Office in the financial administration . From 1862 to 1879 Ismannsdorf was administered by the Heilsbronn district office, since 1880 by the Gunzenhausen district office (renamed the Gunzenhausen district in 1938 ) and the Gunzenhausen rent office ( renamed the Gunzenhausen tax office in 1920 ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court Heilsbronn until 1879, since 1880 with the district court Gunzenhausen . The municipality had an area of 3,922 km². As part of the regional reform , Ismannsdorf was incorporated into the town of Windsbach on July 1, 1972. Land consolidation began in 1978 .
