history

The place is already recorded in the Eichstätter Salbuch from 1300. The place belonged to the estates of Wernfels Castle and at that time consisted of seven properties. In 1447 he only had two properties, and in 1615 only one property. In the place there was originally a church with the patronage of Catherine of Alexandria ( St. Catherine's Church ). In 1319 the place is called "ze dem Tan", 1510 as "Tannhof", 1640 as "Donnhof". The defining word of the place name is the plant genus fir .

In the Salbuch from Eichstätt from 1671, Thonhof was given a subject who was subordinate to the Spalt caste office .

Towards the end of the 18th century, the Thonhof belonged to Winkelhaid. The Ganzhof continued to have the caste office Spalt as landlord . Under the Prussian administration (1792–1806) of the Principality of Ansbach, the Thonhof received the number 21 of Winkelhaid when the house numbers were assigned. From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the Justice and Chamber Office Windsbach .

In the geographic statistical-topographic lexicon of Franconia (1799) the place is described as follows:

" Donhof, or Thonhof, Eichstättischer Einödhof belonging to the Wernfels Spalt care and box office, in the Fraisch district of the Ansbach camera office in Windspach, a little half an hour west of Deulenberg , but only a shot to the north of Keeshofen ."

As part of the municipal edict, Thonhof was assigned to the Wassermungenau tax district formed in 1809 . It also belonged to the Wassermungenau rural community founded in 1810 . With the second community edict (1818) Thonhof was re-incorporated into the newly formed rural community Winkelhaid . This was incorporated into the city of Windsbach on July 1, 1972 as part of the regional reform .
