history

The oldest evidence for this place dates back to 1304: A document shows that a Chunrad Rotse gave his goods in "Eltweinstorf" to the brothers from the German House in Eschenbach. The place name means "To the village of Elprecht". According to the Salbuch of the Teutonic Order Coming of Nuremberg from 1343, the Eschenbach District Bailiff in Elpersdorf owned 1 Hube . The interweaving of the Teutonic Order with Elpersdorf can be seen in the municipal coat of arms through the paw cross as a symbol of the knightly order.

In the castle Count Urbar of 1361/64 six Untertansfamilien listed for Elpersdorf that the Office Windsbach were under.

In the books of the Eichstatt collegiate monastery St. Nikolaus zu Spalt from 1517 and 1549, a subject family is recorded for Elpersdorf. In 1529, the Hergersbach Hauptmannschaft of the imperial city of Nuremberg was subordinate to 2 subject families in the village.

In the 16-point report of the Oberamt Windsbach from 1608, 18 teams are recorded for Elpersdorf: 4 goods belonged to the caste office Windsbach , 7 farms and 2 goods to the monastery office in Ansbach , 2 farms from the imperial city of Nuremberg , 1 farm to the caste office in Abenberg and 2 Goods to the municipal bailiff office of Eschenbach of the Teutonic Order. There was also a communal shepherd's house. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach caste and city bailiff's office in Windsbach .

In 1671, Elpersdorf's Salbuch in Eichstatt lists 11 subjects, one of which was subordinate to the Abenberg caste office, six to the Principality of Ansbach and four to the imperial city of Nuremberg.

Towards the end of the 18th century, Elpersdorf and the ball mill formed a community with 22 properties and a community shepherd's house. The high court and the village and community rulership was exercised by the caste and municipal bailiff's office in Windsbach. The landlords were the Principality of Ansbach (17 properties; Kastenamt Windsbach: 2 estates, 1 mill, 1 small forge, 1 tavern, 1 empty house ; Abbey Office Ansbach: 5 courtyards, 4 half-yards, 1 Söldengut ), the imperial city of Nuremberg (Landesalmosenamt: 1 half-yard ; Mendel'sche Zwölfbruderstiftung : 1 Halbhof), the Eschenbach District Bailiff (1 Halbhof, 1 Leerhaus) and the Abenberg Kastenamt (1 Gütlein). At that time there were 19 subject families, of which 14 were Ansbachian. From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the Justice and Chamber Office Windsbach .

In 1806 Elpersdorf came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the community edict, Elpersdorf was assigned to the Mitteleschenbach tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Mitteleschenbach, founded in 1810 . With the second community edict (1818) Elpersdorf broke up with the ball mill from Mitteleschenbach and formed a rural community. It was subject to the Heilsbronn Regional Court in administration and jurisdiction and the Windsbach Rent Office in the financial administration . From 1862 to 1879 Elpersdorf was administered by the Heilsbronn district office, since 1880 by the Ansbach district office (renamed the Ansbach district in 1938 ) and the Heilsbronn rent office (1920–1929: Heilsbronn tax office , from 1929: Ansbach tax office ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court Heilsbronn until 1879, 1880–1956 district court Heilsbronn , since 1956 district court Ansbach . The municipality had an area of 4.478 km². In the course of the regional reform , this was incorporated into Windsbach on January 1, 1972.
