Hergersbach is a district of the town of Windsbach in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia .

geography

The Hergersbächl, called Goldbach from the Hölzleinsmühle, flows through the village , a right tributary of the Franconian Rezat . In the east are the corridors of sea beds and ponds, approx. 0.75 km to the south is the chapel field with the abandoned St. Otto church.

For decades the state road 2220 ran through the place , which leads to Windsbach (3.5 km west) or the B 466 crossing to Abenberg (5.5 km east). It now runs around Hergersbach as a bypass. Municipal roads lead to Untereschenbach to state road 2223 (2.6 km southeast), to Leipersloh (1.3 km north) and to Brunn to the district road AN 15 (2.2 km north).

history

According to archaeological finds, the site was probably founded in pre-Carolingian times. Originally the place consisted of 8 courtyards, which were arranged on a street. A church dedicated to Bishop Otto (1060–1139) was built in the 12th century . It was the parish church for Hergersbach, Dürrenmungenau and Untereschenbach , later it was a branch of Wassermungenau, and for a time also of Bertholdsdorf . The place is mentioned for the first time in 1365 as "Hergerspach". The place name is derived from a water body of the same name (now called Goldbach), the defining word of which is the personal name Herger.

Hergersbach became the seat of a main team in the imperial city of Nuremberg . A total of 73 subjects were subordinate to these 1529, 9 of them in Hergersbach itself.

In the 16-point report of the Oberamt Windsbach (1608) 13 subject families are named, three of which were subordinate to the Eichstätt monastery and ten to the Nuremberg patricians Kreß von Kressenstein . The Fraisch exercised the Oberamt Windsbach. In the Thirty Years War the place and the church were destroyed. It was not until 1655 that the place was rebuilt by Austrian exiles .

In 1671 there were 10 properties in the village, 2 of which were subordinate to the Spalt box office , 7 to the Kreß von Kressenstein and 1 Heiling zu Abenberg. In 1732 there were 14 properties in "Hörgersbach" according to the Oberamtsbeschreibung by Johann Georg Vetter , of which 1 property with two teams was subordinate to the Windsbach caste office , 3 properties to the Eichstätt monastery, 1 property to the St. Klara monastery office and 10 Kressenstein properties. There was also a shepherd's house.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 16 properties and a community house in Hergersbach. The high court exercised the manor Dürrenmungenau of Messrs. Kreß von Kressenstein to a limited extent. If necessary, it had to be delivered to the Brandenburg-Ansbach caste and city bailiff's office in Windsbach . The manor Dürrenmungenau ruled the village and community . The landlords were the manor Dürrenmungenau (5 whole yards, 5 half yards, 1 forge), the Hochstift Eichstätt ( box office Abenberg : 1 half yard; box office Spalt : 1 half yard, 1 Köblergut ), the box office Windsbach (1 inn Gütlein) and the Nuremberg owner of Ebner (1 Köblergut). In addition to the households, there was the shepherd's house, which was a communal building. At that time there were 19 subject families, 1 of which was Ansbachian. From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the Justice and Chamber Office Windsbach .

In 1806 Hergersbach came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the community edict, Hergersbach was assigned to the Wassermungenau tax district, formed in 1809 . It belonged to the rural community Wassermungenau, founded in 1810 . With the second community edict (1818) Hergersbach broke away from Wassermungenau and formed a rural community. It was subject to the Heilsbronn Regional Court in administration and jurisdiction and the Windsbach Rent Office in the financial administration . From 1862 to 1879 Hergersbach was administered by the Heilsbronn district office, since 1880 by the Schwabach district office (renamed the Schwabach district in 1938 ) and the Spalt rent office (1920–1932: Spalt tax office , from 1932: Schwabach tax office ). Jurisdiction remained with the Heilsbronn District Court until 1879, and with the Roth District Court from 1880 . The municipality had an area of 3.718 km². In the course of the regional reform , it was incorporated into Windsbach on July 1, 1972 and came from what was then the Schwabach district to the Ansbach district.
