history

The original name was "Amner-" or "Amtnermühle", probably named after the first owner. In 1790 it was first referred to as "Wörnsmühl".

Towards the end of the 18th century, the Amtmanns and Wernsmühle belonged to Windsbach. She had the Brandenburg-Ansbach caste office in Windsbach as landlord . Under the Prussian administration (1792–1806) of the Principality of Ansbach, Wernsmühle received the number 176/177 of the city of Windsbach when the house numbers were assigned. From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the Justice and Chamber Office Windsbach . There was a subject family at that time.

As part of the municipal edict, the Wernsmühle was assigned to the Windsbach tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the municipality of Windsbach, founded in 1810 .

A settlement was established in the second half of the 20th century. Between 1954 and 1958, the Wernsmühle was reorganized from Windsbach to Wernsbach . In 1955, Sandbuck and Holzgarten on the outskirts of Windsbach and some of the houses in the Wernsmühle were moved to Windsbach. On January 1, 1972, the rest of the Wernsmühle was incorporated into Windsbach as part of the regional reform .
