history

The place was first mentioned in the Würzburger Lehenbuch , which was created between 1303 and 1313, as "Götlingsclingen". The place name is probably derived from an identical field name, with the basic word “-clingen” referring to a valley. The meaning of the defining word "Götling" is unclear, but the word is probably derived from a personal name. The Lords of Heideck had at that time the manorial and advocacy of 3 1 / 2 Huben . In 1404 Friedrich and Johann von Heideck sold their property to the Gumbertus Foundation . In the Thirty Years' War the place was deserted except for two houses.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 17 properties in Gödersklingen (6 half yards, 3 estates, 5 little estates, 1 half estate, 2 empty houses ) and a community shepherd's house . The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach Hofkastenamt Ansbach . The Abbey Office of Ansbach held the village and community rulership and the land lordship over all properties . There were 19 subject families at that time. From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach .

As part of the municipal edict, Gödersklingen was assigned to the Brünst tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Brünst, founded in 1811 . In the course of the territorial reform , this was incorporated into Lehrberg on January 1, 1978.
