geography

The Zailacher Bach flows through the village, which is a right tributary of the Franconian Rezat , and the Weihergraben, which flows there as a right tributary into the Zailacher Bach. The brook is first mentioned by name as Zeilbach in 1458 . Approx. The Aubühl ( 431  m above sea level ) rises 0.75 km south, and the Geißbuck ( 435  m above sea level ) about 1 km east . Approx. 0.5 km to the north is the Fichtenleiten field , to the east the partial tendrils and the hub .

State road 2250 runs directly north of Zailach . It leads to a junction of the B 13 near Lehrberg (1.3 km east) or past Häslabronn to Colmberg (5 km west). A community road leads to Hürbel am Rangen (1.8 km southeast).

history

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1300 as "Zilawe". The defining word is derived from mhd. "Zîl" (= thorn, bush, bushes), the basic word from mhd. "Ouwe, owe" (= land surrounded by water). Whether the place name is derived from the name of the stream or the name of the stream is derived from the place name cannot be clarified. Another mention dates from 1424 in an exchange document, in which it is noted that a certain Konrad Posse zu Flachslanden exchanged his castle-counts' fiefdom in Zailach for goods from the St. Gumbert Monastery. It was not until 1504 that the current form "Zeilach" was documented.

During the Thirty Years' War , Zailach, like many other places, was badly devastated and only flourished again from 1642 onwards with the influx of Protestant exiles from Austria.

In the 16-point report of the Oberamt Ansbach from 1684, 27 teams were recorded for Zailach. 21 properties were subordinate to the Ansbach court box office , two properties to the Ansbach monastery , one property of the parish of Jochsberg, one property to the mayor and council of Ansbach , two properties to a Mr. Flechtner and one property to the secret Secretarius Prenner. The high court and the village and community authority exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbachische Hofkastenamt Ansbach.

At the end of the 18th century there were 20 properties in Zailach. The court box office in Ansbach continued to exercise the high court and the village and community rule. The Principality of Ansbach was the landlord (Hofkastenamt: 2 courtyards, 1 three-quarter courtyard, 4 half-courtyards, 2 estates, 5 Köbler estates , 2 forges, 1 inn; Ansbach Abbey: 1 courtyard, 1 estate; Jochsberg Vogtamt : 1 parish) In addition to the property, there were also communal buildings (shepherd's house, breaker's house ). At that time there were 22 subject families. From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach . During the Napoleonic campaigns , the community ran into large debts, which arose from the troops moving through and billeting.

In 1806 Zailach came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the community edict, Zailach was assigned to the Gräfenbuch tax district, which was formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Graefenbuch, founded in 1811 . On September 13, 1827, Zailach was reassigned to Lehrberg. On August 16, 1840, the formation of the rural community of Zailach was approved, to which Hürbel am Rangen , Schmalenbach and Schmalenbacher Mühle belonged. It was subordinate to the Ansbach Regional Court in administration and jurisdiction and to the Ansbach Rent Office ( renamed Ansbach Tax Office in 1920 ). From 1862 on, Zailach was administered by the Ansbach District Office (renamed the Ansbach District in 1938 ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court of Ansbach until 1870, 1870-1879 city and district court Ansbach , since 1880 district court Ansbach . The municipality had an area of 7,942 km².

Even before the Second World War, the community of Zailach experienced a considerable boom, so that, for example, a water pipe was built in Hürbel as early as 1927. On January 1, 1972, Zailach was incorporated into Lehrberg as part of the regional reform .
