history

Ketteldorf was probably founded between 750 and 850. The place was first mentioned by name in 1138 as "Ketelnorf". The defining word of the place name is the personal name Ketilo, a reduced form of the personal name Kato. The monastery Heilsbronn Beginning with its inception in 1132 in possession of two farms in "Ketelendorf". Gradually it acquired all the other farms. A chapel was also built at this time, which lasted until 1716. Today's Evangelical Lutheran Church was built in its place.

In the 16-point report of the Heilsbronn monastery office from 1608, 19 teams are listed for Ketteldorf, all of which had the Heilsbronn monastery administration office as landlord (twelve farmers, seven Köbler ). The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach caste and city bailiff's office in Windsbach . In contrast to most other places in this area, Ketteldorf remained largely inhabited during the Thirty Years War . Only four properties were deserted.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 19 properties in Ketteldorf (12 farms, 4 farms, 1 inn, 1 baker's farm, 1 drip house ). The high court over two properties was exercised by the Brandenburg-Ansbach caste and municipal bailiff's office in Windsbach, and the judge's office in Roßtal over 17 properties . The monastery administration office in Heilsbronn held the village and community rulership and the lordship over all properties. In addition to the property, there were also ecclesiastical buildings (church, shepherd's house) and communal buildings (smithy, sheep house). There were 21 subject families at that time. From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the Justice and Chamber Office Windsbach .

In 1806 Ketteldorf came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the community edict, Ketteldorf was assigned to the Petersaurach tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community Petersaurach founded in 1810 . With the second community edict (1818), Ketteldorf broke away from Petersaurach and formed a rural community. It was subject to the Heilsbronn Regional Court in administration and jurisdiction and the Windsbach Rent Office in the financial administration . From 1862 to 1879 Ketteldorf was administered by the Heilsbronn district office, since 1880 by the Ansbach district office (renamed the Ansbach district in 1938 ) and the Heilsbronn rent office (1920–1929: Heilsbronn tax office , from 1929: Ansbach tax office ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court Heilsbronn until 1879, 1880–1956 district court Heilsbronn , since 1956 district court Ansbach . The municipality had an area of 5.487 km². As part of the regional reform , Ketteldorf was incorporated into Heilsbronn on January 1, 1972.
