history

In connection with the construction of a church (patronage unknown) in 1239, the place was first mentioned by name as "Godemůzelstorf". The defining word of the place name is the Slavic personal name Godomusl . It can be assumed that the place is one of the settlements that were created by the Slavs (see Slavic settlement names in northeast Bavaria ). The spelling of the place name changed several times in the following time: "Gotmuzzelsdorf" (1268), "Gotmanssdorff" (1402), "Gotmannsdorff" (1413), "Gotmanßdorff" (1504).

The church was originally a branch of St. Maria (Großhaslach) , from 1249 of St. Johannes (Bürglein) . The monastery Heilsbronn gradually acquired eight yards, two remained nürnbergisch .

In the 16-point report of the Heilsbronn monastery office from 1608, only the 7 teams are listed for Gottmannsdorf who had the Bonnhof caste office as landlord (4 farmers, 2 Köbler and 1 barn). The teams of other landlords are not listed. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach caste and city bailiff's office in Windsbach . During the Thirty Years War , four courtyards burned down next to the church, four were uninhabited and deserted, only two remained inhabited.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 9 properties in Gottmannsdorf. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Bayreuth city bailiff's office in Markt Erlbach to a limited extent. If necessary, it had to be delivered to the Brandenburg-Ansbach judges office in Roßtal . The village and community rulership was held by the Brandenburg-Bayreuth caste office Bonnhof . The landlords were the Bonnhof caste office (4 courtyards, 2 estates, community pastoral house) and the state alms office of the imperial city of Nuremberg (1 courtyard, 1 inn). At that time there were 8 subject families. From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice and Chamber Office Cadolzburg .

As part of the community edict, Gottmannsdorf was assigned to the Bürglein tax district, which was formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Bürglein, founded in 1810 . With the second community edict (1818) Gottmannsdorf was re-pared into the newly formed rural community Bonnhof . This was incorporated into the city of Heilsbronn on January 1, 1972 as part of the regional reform .
