Weißenbronn (colloquially: Waisnbrún ) is a district of the city of Heilsbronn in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia .

geography

Betzmannsdorf adjoins the parish village immediately to the east . The Weißenbronner Bächlein rises in the village and flows into the Schwabach at Göddeldorf as a right tributary . To the south-west is the Weißenbronn Forest with the Grubenberg , to the south-east is the Betzenlohe forest area .

The district road AN 17 leads to Heilsbronn (2 km northwest) or to Triebendorf (3 km southeast). The district road AN 29 leads past Betzmannsdorf to Göddeldorf (3 km northeast). Communal roads run across the Butzenhof to Weiterndorf (1.3 km north) and to Mausendorf (1.8 km south-west).

history

The place was first mentioned in a document as "Wizenbrunnen" in 1286. There were the spellings "Witzenbrun" (1318), "Wiesenbrunn" (1322), "Weißenbrunn" (1337), but according to old parish chronicles it was also called "Wizenbrunnen, Wißenbrunn, Wiesenprunn ”or“ Weysenbrun ”. The place name is derived from a water body of the same name, which denotes a bright, clear source (today called Weißenbronner Bächlein). In the early 14th century a church was built, which was consecrated in 1337 and dedicated to the Archangel Michael.

The Heilsbronn Monastery gradually came into possession of all 38 properties and parish patronage by the beginning of the 16th century. Long before these acquisitions, the monastery had jurisdiction in the village.

In the 16-point report of the Oberamt Windsbach from 1608, 37 teams are recorded for Weißenbronn: The four farmers and 33 Köbler had the monastery administration office Heilsbronn as landlord . There was also a communal shepherd's house and the rectory. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach caste and city bailiff's office in Windsbach . According to the 16-point report of the Heilsbronn monastery office, also from 1608, 38 teams were specified for Weißenbronn (4 farmers and 34 Köbler).

During the Thirty Years War , some buildings were damaged, including the church and the sacristan's house; the inhabitants were repeatedly robbed by troops passing through and forced to billet them. In contrast to the surrounding towns, Weißenbronn recovered fairly quickly after the end of the war. The roughly 250 religious refugees from Austria, who found a new home in the area of the parish, were responsible for this.

In 1716 the St. Michaels Church was restored with the stones and bricks from the destroyed St. Stephen's Chapel in Wollersdorf . In 1738 a rectory was built, in which stones and bricks from the church ruins were also built.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 40 properties in Weißenbronn (2 courtyards, 3 half-courtyards, 1 half-courtyard with an inn, 1 estate, 23 estate, 1 estate with fire rights, 1 estate with bathroom, 2 forges, 6 drip houses ). The high court was exercised by the caste and municipal bailiff's office in Windsbach. The monastery administration office in Heilsbronn held the village and community rulership and land lordship over all properties. In addition to the property, there were also ecclesiastical buildings (church, rectory) and communal buildings (schoolhouse, shepherd's house). There were 39 subject families at that time. From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the Justice and Chamber Office Windsbach .

In 1806 Weißenbronn came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict , the tax district Weißenbronn was formed in 1808 , to which Betzmannsdorf , Göddeldorf , Müncherlbach , Seitendorf , Trachenhöfstatt , Triebendorf and Weißenbronn belonged. The rural community Weißenbronn was founded in 1810 and was congruent with the tax district. It was subject to the Heilsbronn Regional Court in administration and jurisdiction and the Windsbach Rent Office in the financial administration . With the second community edict (1818), the rural community Weißenbronn was split into

  • Rural community Müncherlbach
  • Rural community Seitendorf with Göddeldorf and Trachenhöfstatt
  • Betzmannsdorf and Triebendorf continued to belong to the rural community of Weißenbronn.

From 1862 to 1879 Weißenbronn was administered by the Heilsbronn district office, since 1880 by the Ansbach district office (renamed the Ansbach district in 1938 ) and the Heilsbronn rent office (1920–1929: Heilsbronn tax office , from 1929: Ansbach tax office ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court Heilsbronn until 1879, 1880–1956 district court Heilsbronn , since 1956 district court Ansbach . The municipality had an area of 7.238 km². In the course of the regional reform , this was incorporated into Heilsbronn on May 1, 1978.
