The former water mill (attested in 1792) is adorned with the millwheel coat of arms. During the Reformation, the Komtur von Virnsberg and Apel von Seckendorf were the patrons of Mitteldachstetten. After the devastation of the Thirty Years' War , the place became the new home of around 30 exiles from Austria.

In 1806 Mitteldachstetten came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict , the Mitteldachstetten tax district was formed in 1808 , to which Hohenau , Mitteldachstetten, Möckenau and Spielberg belonged.
