history

The place was first mentioned by name in 1346 as "Berglin". The place name refers to the geographical location of the place, which is located on a slight hill. There has been a church in the village since the 14th century, which was built as a fortified church and consecrated to St. Kilian and Kunigunde.

Towards the end of the 18th century, Berglein and Dorf formed a community. There were nine properties in Berglein. The high court exercised the Obervogteiamt Virnsberg . The village and community rule was held by the Teutonic Order Coming Virnsberg . The landlords were the Teutonic Order (Kommende Virnsberg: 1 courtyard, 1 Dreiviertelhof, 1 Viertelhof, 1 Hirtenhaus; Deutschordensspital Nürnberg der Kommende Nürnberg : 1 Hof, 1 Halbhof, 1 Sechstelhof; Parish Berglein : 1 Sechstelhof) and the manor Rügland of the Lords of Crailsheim (1 Sechstelhof).

In 1806 Berglein came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict, Berglein was assigned to the Virnsberg tax district, formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Virnsberg, founded in 1811 . On June 12, 1824, Berglein was re-pared into the newly formed community of Neustetten . In voluntary jurisdiction, a property was subject to the Rügland Patrimonial Court from 1820 to 1848 . A request from 1844 to form a separate municipality with Dörflein was rejected because both places did not reach the minimum number of 20 families. On August 30, 1923, the redevelopment of Berglein and Dörflein to Mitteldachstetten was approved. In the course of the regional reform , the community of Mitteldachstetten was incorporated into Oberdachstetten on January 1, 1972.
