Wippenau (colloquially: Midlmāhof ) is a district of the Flachslanden market in the Ansbach district in Middle Franconia .
geography
The Katzbach rises in the hamlet , a left tributary of the Franconian Rezat . Immediately to the east of the village is the Hagweiher, behind it is the Fünferholz . Approx. The forest area Birkach lies 0.5 km to the north-west , approx. 0.25 km north of the Neuwiesenschlag .
The place is on the state road 2245 , which leads to Oberdachstetten (6 km west) or to Großhabersdorf (22 km east), and on the state road 2253 , which leads to Flachslanden (2.3 km south-east). A community road leads to Berglein (1.7 km southwest).
history
The place was first mentioned by name in 1294 as "Wippenaw". The defining word of the place name is the personal name Wipo. In the meantime, the settlement was combined as a single farm and referred to as "Wippenauhoff" (1732). Only after 1900 the official name of the place was again Wippenau. In the vernacular pronunciation of “Zum Wippenauhof”, the “Midlmāhof”, which is used today, emerged through blurring.
The monastery Heilsbronn had at least four goods in in the first half of the 14th century.
Towards the end of the 18th century, Wippenau consisted of two whole courtyards. The high court exercised the Obervogteiamt Virnsberg . The Teutonic Order Coming Virnsberg held the village and community rulership and the lordship over both properties .
As part of the municipal edict, Wippenau was assigned to the Flachslanden tax district formed in 1808 . This also belonged to the rural community Flachslanden founded in 1811 .
